Beschrijving
Pineau des Charentes is a regional apéritif of western France, while popular within its region of production, it is less well known than its cousin Cognac. Its history dates back to the late 16th century. According to legend, it was accidentally created when a winemaker mistakenly added grape must to a barrel containing Cognac, resulting in a delightful and unexpected new beverage! It’s most commonly served before the meal. Serve the wine slightly chilled, about 10 degrees, and serve in a sherry glass to amplify the aromas. Besides neat pour, this apéritif can be used across a variety of applications. Pineau des Charentes allows you to explore new flavor dimensions and enhance your cocktail-making creativity. It can also be used in culinary, bringing a complex sweetness into your dish.
